veg box
Our veg boxes contain 8+ items.
Boxes typically include a bag of mixed salad grown by us on our farm in south east London, a bunch of leafy greens (such as kale or chard) and a bunch of herbs. Plus potatoes, carrots and onions most weeks and a selection of seasonal vegetables.
We work with a loose ‘no swaps rule’. However, we don’t really like rules and if we can accommodate specific requests we will. All we ask is that you are mindful of our small team’s capacity to do so.

How much does a veg box cost?
It’s part of our mission to make our veg boxes affordable and accessible to as many people as possible. To do this, we have a sliding scale payment system where you select the pricing that is most appropriate for your current personal circumstances. All weekly veg boxes will have exactly the same items in the same amounts — it’s simply the pricing that changes to help us address the issue of healthy food access as a collective.
This is made possible thanks to donations made by our restaurant customers and veg box customers to our Food Access Fund.
Have a look at our guidelines for help with deciding which pricing is best for you. If you have any further questions about this, reach out to us at hello@folxfarm.org
For fun, we’ve named each pricing option after a different veg:
£20 ‘Beetroot’ veg box – full price veg box plus a £5 donation to our Food Access Fund
£15 ‘Potato’ veg box – full price veg box
£5 for the ‘Radish’ veg box – subsidised price veg box through our Food Access Fund
How does ordering work?
You can order your veg box in one of three ways.
Option 1 – Standing order – you can set up a standing order for a regular weekly or fortnightly veg box.
Option 2 – Bulk order – you can pre-purchase your veg boxes in bulk. It’s like buying vouchers to make an order whenever you’d like. We ask that customers pre-purchase your veg boxes in bulk orders of 5 at the pricing of your choice.
Option 3 – One-off veg box – you can order a one off veg box as long as we have extra available.
Veg boxes get delivered to our pick up point in East London and selected postcodes around East London every Thursday. Veg box orders need to be made by Sunday morning for Thursday delivery. Any cancellations need to be made by the Sunday morning before the Thursday delivery.
Once we receive your order request, we’ll send you a confirmation email with our bank details for you to make a BACS payment.

Where and how is the veg grown?
In the summer, we grow most of the veg box contents (except from potatoes and carrots) on our farm ourselves. Our farming practice prioritises our soil and ecosystem health to yield an abundance of deliciously healthy produce. For more info on how we farm, you can check out our website’s ‘About Us’ section.
During the colder months, we grow the veg box items that don’t travel well. These are the salads, leafy greens and herbs. We supplement this with veg from other farms, mostly in Kent and Sussex and always within the UK. We source as much of this veg as possible from small regenerative farms that have a similar farming practice and are vetted by us too.
As the regenerative farming movement continues to grow in the UK, we hope to exclusively source veg grown in this way soon. At present, we often source veg from larger UK farms that are certified organic. We very occasionally source veg from farms in Kent and Sussex that use low intervention farming practices, especially during the UK’s ‘hungry gap’. This refers to a tough time of year for farmers when winter veg begins to dwindle before spring sown veg comes through. We prefer to source freshly picked veg from these local farms, instead of shipping in organic veg from abroad.
