FOOD CO-OP LAUNCH AT TEVIOT CENTRE

On Tuesday 15th October we attended the launch of the 2nd Food Co-op day at the Teviot Centre. It was a fun event full of arts and crafts, food growing and bread tasting and a great opportunity to meet the people buying the veg we grow.

This is Rubina, Rubina is a member of the Co-operation Town Model collective running out of Limehouse Town Hall. This is a Co-op of around 40 households who came together after the Wednesday market at Limehouse Town Hall came to an end. They wanted to be able to continue to buy organically grown veg, so decided to start a co-op, buying veg directly from suppliers to keep the costs down. 

We caught up with Rubina at the launch and she spoke to us about what the Co-op has meant to her and her family.
