folx farm is a five acre farm located between Hastings and Rye, where we grow organically raised, hand tended salad, herbs and vegetables - lovingly tended by a team of dedicated women and non-binary growers.

On this beautiful site in the middle of the East Sussex countryside, with 1 acre of polytunnels and greenhouse, acres of meadow and marshland and our own rain fed reservoir, we not only grow our signature salad but are expanding our offering to include an array of vegetables, flowers and materials to weave.

Our farming practices prioritise our soil and ecosystem health to yield an abundance of deliciously healthy produce. Folx farm is currently 5 acres of rushland set in heavy clay soil but over the next few years we will work to transform the fields into nutrient rich thriving ecosystems, planted up with a wide array of herbs, salad and vegetables, introducing flowers, hedgerows and trees that work collaboratively to encourage wildlife whilst supporting us to grow our crops with as little intervention as possible.

  • CHRISSY has been a grower for 10 years establishing and refining what was to become the foundations of folx farm, when running Keats Organics, a 0.3 acre market garden in South London.

  • RAE is an outdoor educator and food grower, passionate about connecting children and young people to land and teaching the next generation how to grow food that benefits people and the planet.

  • DUNIA has been growing for the last 5 years - using their background in making and design to shape the farm. They look forward to expanding and sharing their knowledge of land based crafts in this new landscape.

Why folx farm?

As the name suggests, at the heart of folx farm is people. We not only want to grow salad, we also want to grow a community of people who are connected to land and share our values. Right now we are working hard to get our infrastructure in place, but very soon we will be opening our doors, welcoming people to join us on this journey.

If you are a land, food, or craft worker and would like us to know you are interested in getting involved, please send us an email. We are building a space for those traditionally marginalised from accessing land - prioritising queer women, non-binary, trans folx and POC.

We operate with full transparency, welcoming questions about our growing practise and inquisitive visitors to the farm.
